SUSTAINABLE PROCUREMENT

Transparency in our relationship with suppliers and customers and respect for the environment have become the hallmarks of LaFinca Group.
LaFinca Group, on its path to excellence, has set itself a very demanding agenda that includes ensuring that its business activity allows:
- 1. Protecting the environment and public health
- 2. Conserving natural resources
- 3. Reducing the environmental impact of hazardous materials
- 4. Reducing CO2 emissions from the transport of materials
- 5. Minimizing waste, including landfill and incineration, toxicity reduction.
One of the key aspects to guarantee the objectives of sustainability and commitment to the Environment is to raise the awareness of the value chain of production of goods and services involved in the Group’s business activity.
In order to achieve maximum alignment between the objectives of LaFinca Group and the lines of action derived from its business activity, 3 key courses of action have been established to be taken into account in the value chain:

Course of action 1
Minimizing the environmental risk of toxic and hazardous materials
La Finca Global Assets Socimi S.A. recognizes the value of purchasing products with low toxic and dangerous product content, thus minimizing environmental impact, and requires its suppliers to support this effort when appropriate and/or possible. The Purchasing Department of all Business Park supplies will request suppliers to report the potential for reducing packaging options and the toxic compound content of their products.
Course of action 2
Minimizing the use of materials or substances emitting volatile organic compounds (VOCs)
La Finca Global Assets Socimi S.A. seeks to minimize the use of materials or substances emitting volatile organic compounds (VOCs), under the requirements of Directive 2004/42/EC on the limitation of emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) due to the use of organic solvents in certain paints and varnishes. These requirements shall be specified in the contracts of material and/or equipment suppliers in accordance with the internal procedures developed.
Course of action 3
Promoting the use of sustainable or durable goods and products such as efficient electronic equipment, office furniture, etc.
Meeting environmental standards, such as regional manufacturing, use of recycled material or provision of eco-labels.
The term “durable goods” refers to higher cost per unit materials that are rarely replaced and/or may require capital expenditures for their purchase, including, but not limited to, office equipment, appliances, and furniture. The purchase criteria for these products are divided into the following categories.
Electronics and White Line
La Finca Global Assets Socimi S.A. will promote the purchase of:
- Products with low energy consumption and high energy efficiency labels, when possible.
- Equipment replacing those powered by conventional fuels, including maintenance equipment, forklifts and vehicles.
Furniture
La Finca Global Assets Socimi S.A. will promote the purchase of products that:
- Contain materials harvested, extracted or processed within 800 kilometers of the manufacturing plant.
- Include eco-labels similar to the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certificate for wood.
Sustainable purchase of paper
La Finca Global Assets Socimi S.A. seeks to reduce the environmental impact of paper consumption. To this end, we pursue a “Zero Paper” policy and, if necessary, we will boost the purchase of paper with a % recycled origin and with a responsible production seal as an indicator of sustainability.
La Finca Global Assets Socimi S.A. recognizes the value of purchasing sustainable products and requires its suppliers to support that effort when appropriate and/or possible.
